Youth Forum Training

As part of our commitment to the UK Contingent’s vision for creating a positive long term impact on Scouting, we have created online training for young people in Units on how to run an effective youth forum.

We’re offering the opportunity for 4 young people per Unit the chance to develop their ability to run an effective youth forum by attending live online training. The training will include how to plan and engage the participants in the forum, and how to work in partnership with adults to deliver forum outcomes.

We hope that these skills will be useful in the coming months as Units plan their time in North America, as well as useful for the young people in their local Scouting following the Jamboree.

Online training will take place on the following dates:

  • 14th January – for Units 1-30
  • 17th January – for Units 31-60
  • 21st January – for Units 61-100

The training session will start at 8pm and will last about 30 minutes. If your young people would need to take part in a training date not listed for their Unit, this is fine – just ask them to register for the date they can attend.

Ideally, the young people participating in this training should not be those that have attended the Scouts Speak Up training.

Young people will need to register for the training via the link below, they will then be emailed a link to attend the training:

The training will be made available as a recording following the completion of all the training dates for Unit Leaders to share with other young people in your Units.
