Journey to the Jamboree

The Jamboree will be an experience like no other for participants and IST alike. As IST you will be working hard to support the Jamboree and we want to ensure that you are well prepared to maximise your time on site.

You can read a bit about the Jamboree here. We want to ensure in advance of the Jamboree you get the training you need, have the opportunity to meet other IST and gel as a team.

We hope this will also assist you in spreading the word about the Jamboree and so you are able to fundraise together.

Our Vision

The UK Contingent Management Team will deliver a unique international adventure shaped by young people, where contingent members will develop personally and have a positive longer term impact on Scouting and beyond.

To achieve our vision, all members of the Contingent have the opportunity to participate in the UK Contingent Personal Development Award. More information about the Award will be provided at IST Weekend.

Working with local Units

We are looking to link you with your local Jamboree Unit. This will be a good opportunity to increase your pre-Jamboree experience, enhance the process for the young people and maybe even tick off part of your Award.

We will formally link named IST to each Unit, but we would like for you to link up with other local IST, if required, to support Units with personal development, running workshops, assisting with training camps and team building exercises. These Unit Support IST, will have the opportunity to get to know the Leaders and young people of the Units so that you can engage with them socially at the Jamboree and provide support to the Unit Leaders.

More information will be available at the IST Weekend and following the event we will be looking for IST to sign up as Unit Support IST, as an additional responsibility to their chosen IST role.
