The roles “Unit Leader” and “Assistant Unit Leader” have now been added to Compass for the 24th World Scout Jamboree.
As these are local appointments, these roles will need to be added to Compass at a County or Country level and approved by the relevant local Appointments Advisory Committee. Details of how to add these roles to Compass can be found on the Compass Support Website.
These roles have been created to include appropriate training and Criminal Record Checking requirements.
The requirements are as follows:
- Modules 1, 2 and 3 – For the appointments to be made full, all members of the Unit Leadership Team must have completed these modules before attending the Jamboree.
- Section Leader Wood Badge and First Aid. We would encourage all members of the Unit Leadership Team to work towards a Wood Badge. We accept that due to the length of the role, not all members of the team will be able to complete these requirements before attending the Jamboree.
- All members of the Unit Leadership Team must have a valid criminal record check throughout the Jamboree cycle, including any preparatory meetings and camps.
The Unit Leader should receive the role “Unit Leader – World Scout Jamboree 2019” and all Deputy or Assistant Unit Leaders should receive the role “Assistant Unit Leader – World Scout Jamboree 2019”.
Roles should begin from the date at which the individual was appointed and end by the 31st of December 2019 at the latest.
