IST Zone

17904253_1876513042601181_8796891095234287459_nWelcome to the IST Zone – our section of the website dedicated to the International Service Team (IST) who are responsible for the smooth running of Roverway 2018 when at the event.

Our IST are key members of the UK Scout Contingent to Roverway, they will be running activities and supporting event staff at the central camp. As members of the UK Scout Contingent, IST members will also act as a crucial support network for participants and Patrol Leaders during the event.

At Roverway, being a member of the IST is so much more than simply volunteering abroad. Due to the unique programme of Roverway, participants will spend the first 5 day of the event on a Path exploring the host country. Meanwhile, members of the IST will go to the central camp in Zeewolde to start building the event. This means that IST have five days at the camp beforehand to set-up but also experience the activities on offer.

Here’s how the start of your journey to Roverway 2018 will work:

Stage 3 – Tell your friends!

Once you’ve signed up, why not get some of your Scouting colleagues to join you in The Netherlands next summer? You can follow what we’re up to by liking and sharing our social media posts on Facebook or Twitter. Alternatively, get in touch with your County/Area/Region to find the patrol nearest you so you can work together to prepare and fundraise for Roverway!

Stage 2 – Sign up for Roverway!

If you’ve decided that Roverway is the adventure for you, then simply fill out our application form to sign up. We’ll then get an endorsement from your local commissioner and, assuming that checks out, will invite you to confirm your place in the Contingent by paying a deposit.
