UNITED KINGDOM CONTINGENT

The United Kingdom Contingent represent the UK at three international events. Follow our adventures on Twitter @ukcontingent!

WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE: The last Jamboree took place in Japan 2015, and saw 35,000 Scouts from all over the World join together. The UK was the second biggest contingent attending, with over 4000 young people and adult volunteers experiencing Japan. The next Jamboree will be taking place in Virgina, USA hosted by North America. #Japan2015

ROVERWAY: The next event which we’re looking forward to! In August 2016, members of Scouts and Girlguiding from all over the UK will enter France at 7 different locations and discover French culture and community, as well as working with other young people aged 16-22 from across Europe. The main event will take place outside of Paris for a huge celebration! #RoverwayUK

WORLD SCOUT MOOTThe Moot is aimed at members of the Scout Network, aged 18-25. In 2013 the event took place in Canada, and the ball is already rolling for Iceland, 2017! Moot is the best of both worlds – taking part in a Patrol Expedition to discover the stunning beauty of Iceland and then share your experiences with 5000 Scouts from across the globe! #MootUK

  1. Good Evening Guys,

My name is Jordan and I was fortunate enough to have attended the WSJ in 2007 as a participant. Myself and Alistair (another member of my contingent) would love to be involved in the 2019 Jamboree in America so this is our offer to help.

There isn’t much information on the website regarding other opportunities to help at the Jamboree so I was hoping that you would be able to give us some idea when we can apply for roles in either the UK contingent or the IST for 2019?

We really enjoyed the UK Jamboree and we are really keen on giving something back to make this experience as exciting for others as ours was back in 2007.

    Look forward to your reply,
    Best Wishes,

    Jordan

    1. Hi Jordan, great news that you want to get involved in the Jamboree. CMT roles will go live in August, CST will be recruited for in spring next year.
Alternatively counties will be recruiting for their unit leaders next year and IST will follow in early 2018. Hope that helps!
